Tipsy, Stella & Babs

Stella, Babs & Tipsy our generational trio came into us through absolutely no fault of their own . They were all very loved and cared for but had to be signed over to us due to really unfortunate circumstances. We promised we would try our best to keep these 3 cuties together as we really didn't want to separate them considering we had grandma, mummy and baby. We were so relived we were able to keep that promise to their original owner.

A lovely lady came from a village not far from our rescue came to view these girls in hopes they could fill her home & life back up full of love & joy. It was heart warming seeing this lady with these girls when coming to visit them multiple times before their departure to her home and now they can continue their happy story all together. We love a happy ending.

Here is their 1 month update:-

Happy girls, little Babs is coming out of her shell and laid on my bed for a bit. Empty cat beds, my beds are full. They’ve had a venture outside, now in resting. I get more claws and teeth then furr when I brush Tipsy. Happy girls, purring away. They’re not liking the whisker pouches much and are sometimes sick but they make me so happy.

Bingo

Bingo went to his new home on the 10th of January 2024, a loving family home where he seems to have settled in really nicely. Bingo came into our care through absolutely no fault of his own, after being sold to his original owner as a female cat (which he had bought to keep his other cat company) it became very obvious once old enough he indeed wasn't female by the fact he ended up impregnating the other cat. Eventually the kittens were born and in result of this the female cat became very maternally aggressive towards him.

Bingo has been a character from the beginning here at the rescue, I've never known such a cheeky boy but we loved having him and are so happy he has finally found his forever happy ever after with people who will love and adore him. Paws up for Bingo (now also known as Bennie).

Here is a wonderful update on Bingo after a whole month:-

Bingo is settling in very well he is becoming firm friends with Bobby our oldest cat. He is an all-round cat showing affection to everyone not just members of the family. He is so good with the children that visit our house regularly. X
- Chris & Emma English

Bingos 3 month update:-

Everything is good.
6 months update:-
He has settled in so well and is ridiculously cheeky.. as u knew, he loves bags and baskets. He loves a slinky toy the best tho.....if our daughter has one he goes nuts like he's high lol. He loves following me to the bathroom for a fuss too nearly every time he races up the stairs.

Storm & Pebbles

Storm & Pebbles were found at around 10 weeks old along with their 2 other siblings and their mother. Once they were captured it was noticed these poor babies were infested with worms and were treated straight away, it took weeks to build them up to the correct weight ready for them to be neutered once old enough.

Storm & Pebbles were always the most nervous of all the kittens, which made us make the decision of keeping them together. We knew that they needed someone with plenty of time, patience & love. Although they'd come a long way from the hissy scared kittens they once were, they still needed time.

Within a couple of weeks Storm & Pebbles had the perfect couple apply for them and moved into their home on the 3rd of January 2024 ready to start the beginning of the new year in the warmth of a loving home, a place to call their own all the way in Berwickshire. We here at Zoe's Ark are absolutely made up for them.

A month down the line & here is what their new owners have to say about them-

Well, it’s 4 weeks today and we absolutely love them and all their odd ways. Pebbles is silent, it’s almost as if her mother taught her not to miaow - Storm occasionally miaows and burbles away to himself. They will lick food from our fingers, but still no further forward with being able to touch them. We wouldn’t be without them, their boundless energy and playfulness is wonderful! Xx
- Lorraine Bowyers

It has now been 3 months since our lovely Storm & Pebbles have went to their forever home, here is an update for you all:-

First piece of news… we had to give up using Storm as a name, he’s Ronnie to us. Storm suggests power and anger and Ronnie is such a gentle soul who is utterly dominated by Pebbles. We are making slow but steady progress in gaining their trust. Pebbles will occasionally let Andrew stroke the side of her face and Ronnie is ok with having his feet and tail touched. Any attempt to touch their sides or heads results in them running away and we go back a few stages. They are desperate to go out but we are still keeping them in as neither of us is convinced they would come back 😢 All that being said, we love them dearly, and they bring so much joy whether they’re chasing each other, playing with corks and paper balls or curled up in a sunny spot or in front of the fire. They are each the other’s best friend and despite the play fighting they do love each other. Ronnie’s pleasure is to lick out big yogurt pots; Pebbles waits for him to finish so she can clean his head for him. Love Andrew, Lorraine, Ronnie and Pebbles.
Here is Storm & Pebbles 6 month update:-
We’ve had a breakthrough with both Ronnie and Pebbles! Ronnie has no hint of his beginnings, and to all intents and purposes he is just like any other cat. He loves strokes, cuddles and will allow himself to be brushed. I can pick him up and although he’d rather I didn’t, he is becoming less stressed. He is, however, a born thief and silently steals whatever he can lay his paws on - bread is a particular favourite! Pebbles is still wary but she now lets us stroke her, albeit on her terms, and the sound of her purring as she has her ears scratched is joyous. We’re a long way off cuddles, and I’m not sure either of them will be natural lap cats, but the change over the past 6 months is amazing. They play together endlessly, charging under and over the furniture at breakneck speeds . We have solid floors and they take corners like cartoon characters. Ronnie has spent weeks remodelling his cardboard box house, Casa Ronnie and Pebbles winds him up by hiding in it then leaping out. We can’t believe they have been with us for 6 months and while we still have a way to go, we know they are happy to be with us.

Jasper

Our lovely Jasper came into our rescue after a lovely lady contacted us about him. She had been feeding Jasper for some time and felt like she could see his condition worsening, however she needed a trap as he wasn't a cat she could touch. With patience & time she managed to capture him and we then brought him into our care.

Straight away we did notice things wrong with Jasper, he had cloudy eyes (which turned out to be Chlamydial conjunctivitis and was put on a months worth of antibiotics), he was sniffly, wheezing and had mucus coming out of his nose (which was obviously cat flu and ended up on more antibiotics), he was very malnourished (due to his heavy worm burden) and whilst being at the vets it was also noted that a dental would eventually be needed but sorting the other above problems was more of a priority.

It took us just over a month to completely turn Jasper around health wise, however within this time it also showed us that Jasper happiness did truly lay with the outdoors and having his own space and freedom. Even after a month walking over to him would cause him to pee in fear and turn him ridged when you tried to touch him, yet when you left the room you'd hear him running around, playing with his toys and just being a happy cat.

I then had to leave  overnight to rehome in another part of England, it was a long journey so I stopped in a b&b for the night whilst a very close friend of mine seen to the cats in our care, this is where he fell in-love with Jasper and decided he wanted to be the one who was able to give Jasper the freedom he deserved but also the love, care, time and effort that came along with it. A few weeks later Jasper was taken to his new home and crated for 5 weeks before being let out to explore his new home and continue his life as an out-door feral in a safe environment.

1 month later here was the update we had:-

Jasper is living as an outdoor cat, due to him feeling happier outdoors as previously he must have been either a feral or neglected cat that had barely any human contact. He loves his food though and finding his own hiding place. His confidence has grown tremendously day by day, though he’s not a touchy-feely cat, that’s fine and he can do things his own pace. Jasper loves playing with toys I was throwing him a catnip mouse with feather on up and down the lane last night for him haha.
- Darren Rutherford

Lovely Jaspers 3 month update:-

Jasper is still doing well, he still does things on his own terms so when I think he’s getting confident, he can be the complete opposite the next day, overall he still loves his food and he occasionally hangs outs with Daphne the pig 😁 Jasper also loves all cooked meat as a lovely treat, he isn’t picky. Venison, salmon, lamb, chicken, duck, turkey, liver, ostrich, mackerel and tuna. Jasper says that’s great dad. Bon appetit! 🤣
Our 6 month update of Jasper:-
Jasper is exactly the same he’s still not very touchable but I’ve attempted a few times and he’s walked off, he’s still loving his time as an ex feral and still has an amazing appetite. Jasper loves exploring the fields about and can be very sassy depending on his mood that day, sometimes chill and sometimes hissy.

  • Domestic Short-haired
  • Neutered, microhipped, flead & wormed
  • Wonky back legs (Zena) due to possible arthritis. Has polyps on ears also, will need steroids and ear drops (rescue will cover cost of all ear related issues for the duration of Zenas life)
  • Available to be reserved
Hello we are Zebadee & Zena. We are two older kitties with plenty of life in us still. We have lived wonderful lives but sadly our owner passed away. It was a heart-breaking decision for the family but they knew we would be ok coming to Zoes Ark.

Zebadee is a very very big boy, he's very laid back and likes a stroke and attention but he's not exactly a big lap cat but he loves rubbing against your legs, purring away and giving you attention. He also likes to jump on the sofa and lay beside you & he is litter trained. He is very friendly and loving once he gets to know you and adores being loved.
However I myself, Zena, like coming up on your lap for a stroke but you'll have to have a little foot stool to or something small to help me get up as I'm not the best jumper, getting down is always easier as I'm a little wonky in my back legs but it doesn't effect me in my day to day life just a bit of arthritis and I'm happy enough but my ears will eventually need surgery and I hope this doesn't lower mine and Zebs chance of a happy loving home.My dad actually had made lots of little ways for me to be able to get up on things like the windowsill as I like to look out of the window.

Me and Zeb are pretty close, sometimes he can try his luck with me but I hold my own and he always knows to back off before its too late, we love each other and most definitely want to stay together but as all families do, we can have our moments of bickering.

We do enjoy going outdoors, we stay close & we usually only venture out for a couple of hours in the morning time for some fresh air then we are happy to come back in and spend the rest of our day lounging around, eating and drinking and lapping up the attention. Our favourite toys are plastic lids, whether that's off the milk cartons or your fizzy pop bottles we are all for it.

Because of how our lifestyle has been for the past 9 years living in the North Pennines, a rural area of living would be nice for us, this does not mean living as outdoor farm cats. Though we go outdoors we aren't exactly street smart because where we lived was out the way of everything in a nice quite secluded area. So a few nice fields would be cool to explore. We are also a little nervous in new situations so no young kids please, visiting children are fine but having to deal with them all the time would be a bit too much for us.

We are available to be reserved now so if you'd like to give two older cats a chance & you have a cat shaped hole in your heart you would like to fill then people click the 'Adoption' option below in the quick links to apply for us now. Thankyou for taking your time to read about us.

Mack

Mack was found when he was around 10 weeks old with his 3 siblings and his mother in a retired housing estate. After speaking with the house owners and neighbours around nobody knew anything about the kittens nor whose the mummy cat was. Over the course of 4 days Mack and his siblings + his mother were captured.

Mack was a very hissy, scared kitten, he would just run away & hide. After weeks of rehabilitating he became one of the most loving, affectionate kittens ever. Mack quickly captured the hearts of many with his gorgeous coloured fur & his very handsome face. He was successfully rehomed on the 8th of December to a lovely family in Liverpool and is living his best life in a loving, warm, safe home just in time for Christmas. Paws up for little Mack.

Here is what his new owners have to say about him after a whole month:-
Mack is doing so well and has grown loads now. He’s such a good boy and very affectionate, loves a cuddle and to sit on a knee. Him and Lola are doing well, he’s grinding her down to be his friend. He knows his full Makerel name now and comes running😂 He’s so very happy with us and although he’s a pest of a little brother, Lola and him do play and chase each other. I have taken him in the garden a few times with harness and lead, which he is getting used to. We love him to bits ❤️😻
- Lindz Gregson.

It has now been 3 months since our gorgeous Mack went to his forever home, here is his 3 month update for you all:-

3 months has gone super fast. We love him to bits, he’s a very funny cat. We’ve had to make a decision to let him outside which I didn’t want to do really but just the lead wasn’t enough for him and he was distressed to see Lola out in the garden. He loves the wildlife in the garden stalking pheasant and birds xxx

Here is Macks 6 month update for you guys:-

Mackerel is doing well still and still so adorable and loving. He is spending the sunny days and nights outside hunting. He has brought and left us a few mice. He doesn’t like the rain and spends rainy days on the sofa sleeping. Mackerel is never far away and always comes home when called , with a little meow hello as he jumps over the fence He enjoys daily visits from 3 cat neighbours, and they run round our garden playing. Mackerel loves a brush and a towel dry after the rain. He would be brushed all day if he could. I love his long furry trousers which go curly in the rain. He’s not really a meat eater but loves his dry food. Thank you Zoe, he’s just the best cat friend we’ve ever had xxx

Hello all, my names Malibu and this is my sister Schnapps, we were captured as kittens with our other sibling and mum back in January in the cold winter. We were found scarpering about near the main road that goes through a village next to the pub, when a lady seen us she was so scared we were going to be hurt so she made a post to Facebook where mummy Zoe saw and less then 24 hours later we were safely brought to The Ark.

We are all very nervous cats. I think growing up with mummy being scared its taught us to fear the world and breaking out of this is something we are showing capability of but haven't exactly mastered yet. We are two of the more confident ones and believe our sibling would be better off staying with mum and we will be ok as we have each other.

I tend to run and hide a lot however if you manage to corner me and stroke me I do eventually realise that it isn't too bad and I accept being touched, however my sister Schnapps is more feisty and can throw a hiss and spit in there, again once she's over that she's then okish at being touched. I know this all seems off putting and I truly hope it isn't but mummy Zoe says in order to get the purrrfect home for us we have to be honest about ourselves.

We were born and grew up on the streets, survival mode is all we know. We are better at trusting and come out a lot more (especially for food and treaties) we just still like to protect ourselves when we are unsure, please understand we aren't bad, just misunderstood. Hopefully your someone who likes a bit of spice in your life.

The type of home that would best suit us would be a quite one, people who have had experience with temperamental cats and can understand us and work with us to help us continue to grow and blossom. No children under 16, no dogs however other cats are fine as we love cuddling into our friends at the rescue. If you feel you can give us what we are looking for then please just scroll down and click the adoption option below in the quick links now to give us that chance. Thank you in advance.

Hello, my names Katherine, I am a lovely girl with a lot of potential. I enjoy strokes and attention, I love food and I don't hesitate to try and get it, I'm just cheeky like that. I was found as a stray roaming an alley way in Manchester until a lovely lady was able to capture me and bring me to the rescue. Not much is known of my story or how I ended up here but based on the fact I'm not feral in the slightest it can only be presumed I didn't grow up on the streets.

I get on well with my cat friends at the rescue however I won't hesitate to give them a cheeky bop if they get to close or annoying, I very much believe a house with or without cats would be something I would be fine with so long as if there are cats the place is big enough for me to have somewhere to go if I'd like some peace and quiet.

Dogs are a no no as I feel that would be too much for me. Children, well if they respect animals I think id be fine with them but I would prefer them to be older around 10+. I am a lady, just a lady who very much knows what she likes and what she wants. I feel in the right home environment I would flourish and grow into being even more of a wonderful companion. I would love for you to see the potential and give me a chance, based on my outdoor experience I would be fine being let outdoors but please note I have settled in perfectly to indoor life and I am fully litter trained.

If you feel I am the kind of cat your looking for please don't hesitate to click the adoption option below in the quick links second and type in my name. Thankyou for taking your time to read about me.

Hello all my names Marci, short for Marceline which is a name of the French origin meaning 'Little warrior'. I was called this as I haven't ever been a pet before and ended up a feral stray pregnant. I gave birth to 4 beautiful babies. We were captured in September by mummy Zoe who pushed to help us and then officially set up the rescue. I've been here the longest as mummy Zoe has really wanted to work on me to give me the best chance possible in being rehomed.

I really have come a long long way, when I first came in the rescue I hissed and would strike out, I hated anyone near me, I smashed every single thing in the bathroom petrified and wanting to get out, I just hid, over the months I have now grown confidence, come out with ease, play and live happily and comfortably with in the 4 walls of what I now call home.

I still have my moments, truthfully deep down I will always be a sassy diva, but I mean no harm, what's life without a little spice though? I'm still weary when I comes to being stroked and do need more time to trust however I'm more willing then what I was, I just sometimes (depending on my mood or if I'm hungry) like to bop your with my paw in order to tell you to leave me be or I will run off though I'm starting to stay a little longer.

I am loving and do enjoy being around you however its from a distance at the moment and its on my terms. I'm a lady who knows what she wants and most importantly what she DOESN'T want.

I get on well with all cats, even if a cat tries to hit me I never react, I would make a wonderful pet if you're looking for a cat mainly to keep your other cat company and give you something super pretty to look at. I cant be around young children or dogs though this would really upset me and stress me out, visiting children are fine as I can take myself away to a quite space but that's are far as I'll go. older cat savvy children are fine. (16+).

Please consider me because I really do have so much potential. All my children have now been adopted and its time for me to find a place to call my own, there has to be someone out there who would like my spice and smile/laugh at it admiring the fact I'm just me and still feed me at the end of the day.

For your chance to adopt me please fill out a form in the 'Adoption' option below in the quick links section today. Thankyou for you consideration.
