Larry

Our handsome boy Larry who came to us back in March 2024 was trapped in Staffordshire. He was part of a colony of over 40 cats where a kind lady spent weeks trapping them all & found rescue spaces for. Larry came to us along with 3 others and very quickly started to show great progression in our trust building exercises and beginning of the rehabilitation program which was wonderful to watch.

Once Larry was fully settled and out of isolation he continued growing from strength to strength and starting to make it very clear he not only loved a cosy bed and food on tap but also enjoyed human interaction via head rubs and chin scratches. Fast movements still made him very nervous so we knew a quite, more relaxed home would be beneficial to him.

Larry was then adopted by a lovely lady and away he went. Unfortunately the cat existing in the house hold didn't take to Larry meaning Larry was then returned to us 2 weeks later, as much as we loved having Larry back we were heartbroken for him as he had done so well to get to where he was so again we set off in search for the perfect home for him.

A couple weeks later a wonderful couple took an interest in Larry and seemed exactly like what we were looking for and they were! So off Larry went again to his new home and we are so made up he has indeed found his place.

Updates to follow soon.

Mr. Puddlesworth

Mr. Puddlesworth came to us back in March after being trapped, he was part of a feral colony which consisted of over 40 cats. When he first came in Mr. P gained slight trust with humans however it was quickly noted he was a cat who preferred to do what he wanted when he wanted and also preferred to keep human contact to a minimum with the exception of taking an easy meal being handed to him. It was obvious this boy loved his freedom as the longer he was restricted in rescue the more annoyed he got about things meaning we knew the feral farm cat lifestyle would be perfect for him rather then a home type lifestyle.

We then had a lovely lady contact us asking if we had any feral cats in to live at a small-hold where even though they'd be living ferally would be treated in a 5* manner with food, warm beds & blankets and medical treatment as and when needed... It was wonderful to know we had exactly what they were looking for along with knowing how loved and looked after he would be so on November the 9th 2024 Mr. P departed with 2 other cats of ours to start their wonderful new life of freedom.

Hi my names Frosty. I was found when I was around 6 weeks old all alone and scared. I'm not sure where my mummy was and a storm came so I dashed to seek refuge in a farm feed warehouse where I was found and a day later trapped by Zoe's Ark. When I was seen at the vets I was of good weight but found to be covered in ticks

When I came into the rescue it wasn't long before I showed my full potential. For all I had been through in my first 6 weeks of life I really was a happy lil kitty who never stops purring and my confidence really is sky high. I love being loved and giving love. Two of my favourite things to do is to roll around in a clean litter tray like a chinchilla in a sand bath and caused mayhem. I became a therapy cat for a local care home and I really did enjoy it. I was great in the rescue also when it came to kittens and helping look after them, Mummy Zoe says Ive been a wonderful asset however I've now spent the first whole year of my life doing this and its only fair I now move on and am able to settle in a home to call my own. Due to be being a very social cat a home with another cat is a must, I enjoy cat and human company very much and love everyone I meet but I can be a cheeky boy. Since I have been rescued I have also never been back outside and I would prefer to keep it that way and stay in the safety of a home so I don't get lost again. Kids of any age would be fine with me, truth be told there really isn't much that would bother me. I haven't been dog tested however cat savvy dogs I would probably settle down with. Hello all, my names Ocean. I was signed over to Zoe's Ark through absolutely no fault of my own, my owner became ill and felt she could no longer look after me anymore.

When I first came to the rescue I shown very quickly how much of a loving, kind, caring boy I was, sleeping under the duvet with you is one of my favourite things to do along with being picked up and cuddled. I love cuddles, kisses, attention and before being neutered I also liked to try and hump your arm or head. I'm a very funny, cheeky chappy who is loveable, friendly and super adorable. I will make a wonderful companion, you'll never be alone, not with me around anyway.

I have never had outdoor experience before, so an indoor only home would be much better for me & safer. A home with other fellow cats would be a bonus as I am very social and get on with all my friends here at the rescue however I would be happy by myself as long as I have someone around most the day as I really do enjoy company and this would be important to my happiness.

If I sound like the purrrfect boy for you then please don't hesitate to click on the 'adoption' option below in quick links for your chance to adopt me now.

Savvi & Merlo

  • Savvi & Merlo
  • Female
  • 3 years old (estimate) & 10 months (DOB: 27th November 2023- Estimate)
  • Black + white & black.
  • Domestic Short Hair.
  • Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea'd & wormed.
  • No health conditions or concerns.

Hello, my names Savvi and this is my daughter Merlo. There was 4 of us all together however I am very thankful to say a very kind, caring, patient man took the chance and adopted my other two daughters and rescued them. It now means there is only us two left out of the family.

We were all found running and scarpering near a busy main road where a member of public seen us and worried for our safety. She reported this to Zoe's Ark and within 24 hours we were all trapped and brought in. I very quickly showed signs of having never known love or a home not by aggression but fear. My daughters however were a little more feisty but mummy Zoe worked with what she had and has brough us on very well.

We aren't perfect, I'm still very nervous & shy but I come out so much more now and though I'm apprehensive of touch I enjoy it much more now, once I realise you aren't going to hurt me. My daughter Merlo comes out absolutely fine for food, doesn't mind being stroked when eating and has shown very positive steps forward however she too is still nervous and doesn't enjoy being cornered, she will run.

Finding a home sooner rather then later is very important for cats like us, there are many many cats in rescue which takes away from as much 1 on 1 time with us. There is also things always  going on, changes and this can unsettle us time & time again. Though the rescue does its best for us, its nothing in comparison of what a home to call our own can do for us in bringing us forward. A home with other cats would be fine for us but dogs are a no no. Young children would also not be a good idea as we are far to nervous for chaos and loud noises however older sensible children (15+) would be fine. People need to understand we will need time however we promise it will feel very rewarding when we progress and come around. Constant busy households also wouldnt be best for us as we would prefer a calm and quieter enviroment.

Our nervous/shy personalities play a part in the fact we are overlooked but what also doesn't help us is our colour meaning we have 2 things against us. We just hope one day both these things can be overlooked and just like my other two daughters, we can have a place to call our own and be loved for us. We eat well, we are fully litter trained... We cause absolutely no problems at all. Please just give us a chance. Thankyou for your time.

If you feel you could give us our happy ever after please feel free to fill out a form on the 'Adoption' option below. Thankyou again.

Midnight

Midnight came to us all the way back in March after being trapped in Staffordshire, she was part of a feral colony which consisted of 40+ cats. When Midnight came into our care she showed pretty much straight away she wanted to be left alone however that didn't stop us trying tirelessly to rehabilitate her, progression was made in some places but steps back where made in others, as time went on the more she was restricted the more annoyed she would get.

This lead us to then try a different approach, time. Midnight was transferred from the rehabilitation station into the main area of the rescue where she had free-roam. Months passed and she was no further interested in humans or contact then she more or less was when coming in, she wanted to be left alone and showed us being a free spirit was mentally where she was at. We felt a home where they were happy to just leave her alone or an outdoor feral would be best suited to her so she was put up and in July a lovely lady came forward offering her everything we knew she would love so away Midnight went to start her happy ever after as an outdoor feral loved by someone who would make sure she was ok if she ever needed help.

And here are her pawsome updates:-

1 Month:-

Midnight seems to be quite settled in her new abode. I don't see much of her and she keeps finding sneaky hidey holes but the wildlife camera has been a good way of ensuring she is OK and giving her space. I'd like to slowly move to allowing her more freedom and enjoying the wilds of Weardale
- Rachel Hepburn

Wonderful Midnights 3 month update:-

She is fine, was doing fine in her barn, although not going out. The roof of the metal shed collapsed so I trapped her to fix it and was due to go away so I just popped her in the house and set up camera. Anyways little miss "I want a barn and straw" apparently loves a triple folded fleece blanket ...

Edward & Esme

Edward & Esme came with their brother Emmett on the 15th January 2024 after being part an accidental litter. It was quite obvious from the start that these two were the closest and needed to stay together. We actually had their father Bingo in too. Edward and Esme blossomed from weary kitties into the most wonderful kitties here. Their confidence grew and they're characters really started to show, super cheeky but super adorable.

Eventually one of our very own volunteers fell in love with them and could resist but to apply and take them home. It was a great happy ending for them. Seeing their photos and getting their updates are lovely and we couldn't be more happier for them both.

Here is their 1 month update:-

Edward and Esme (now Finn and Pacifica) have been with us for a month now. They settled in straight away, I think because they had each other. They are full of mischief, always after the food you have on your plate & they get into everything but it's lovely having them with us. Finn has the loudest purr & loves to jump. Pacifica is less graceful but very sweet and loves nothing more than a chin rub.
- Hanna Davidson

Edward & Esmes 3 month update:-

Finn and Paz are still loving their new home and have been getting up to plenty of mischief too. Finn loves to snuggle up under a blanket while Paz likes to play with her little pom poms (she carries them around in her mouth like a dog). When it comes to dinner time they act like they’ve never been fed before, Finn likes to try and eat the meat before it’s even come out of the packet yet. 🤣 They are both so lovely to have around and have made us all a lot happier (and stressed 🤣).

9 months later:-

Paz and Finn (double trouble) have grown into fun, loveable cats. They still play together like kittens and are often chasing each other around the house. They are both super affectionate, love to be around people and are obsessed with cardboard boxes. Finn likes nothing more than hopping into a plastic carrier bag (whether it's got shopping in it or not) and being carried and swung around.....he's a strange lad 😂

Emmett

Our lovely Emmett came into our rescue along with his siblings after being part of an accidental litter on the 15th January 2024. Emmett was the most confident of them all leading us to believe that he would be just as confident & happy within another house hold so long as they had other cats. His siblings were a lot more closer.

Emmett very quickly showed us his wonderful cheeky personality from a very young age and we knew he'd be snapped up. In fact we had someone who had applied wanting a tabby just like him prior to his arrival, as soon as we got him in we let this lovely lady know.

Straight away she was happy with him and loved him so very much, all being happy with everything and knowing Emmett would have fellow feline friends there, we made our way all the way down to Wiltshire to drop him off to this wonderful new family and we are so grateful that he has settled in so well.

Lovely Emmett's 1 month update:-

Perseus (Percy) has settled into our family so well, we were all prepped for him to stay in our old dog crate like our other two kitties, but no he made it so we no longer needed it. So within a week of having him he pretty much settled in. He loves our other male cat Rupert, both of them are like two peas in a pod, and Rupert gives him a clean once and awhile. Moonbeam our female cat, was a bit wary of him to start with but she also now loves him to bits and both her and Percy cause so much havoc in our house 🤪. Percy and Starlight our dog do also get on well, despite Starlight being scared of Percy. Because he has such sharp claws. All Starlight wants to do is play. (But is 10x the size of little Percy) Percy loves to cuddle up with all our family at night in bed, he does also love to go for your feet too (kitten claws) but overall he is such a cuddle bug, loves his food more than anything and is an absolute gem to this family.
- Abi Simmons

Our wonderful 3 month update on Emmett:-

Perseus, has now been with us for just over 3 months and again he has really settled in. He's met lots of new people that we've had visiting and staying around, and absolutely loves them. He has been cuddling up more by our heads when sleeping, which is extremely cute. He still eats like he has a train to catch and definitely doesn't like to share. But overall he's turning into a really lovely cat. Our other two cats will be glad when he turns one. 😂 Another thing, he loves to follow you around too which is always very fun to watch, and has a comfort toy, well anything with a feather attached. He will grab it in his mouth and drag it everywhere. Overall I can't wait to see what he will become as he gets older, currently he's only 7 months old.

6 months update on Emmett:-

He's settled in well, thinks he owns the place. Loves attention and won't let anyone else get attention 😅😂. He loves his food and zooming around with Moonbeam. He's growing into a fine young kitty cat.

Buddy

Buddy came to Zoes Ark through absolutely no fault of his own, he was signed over after his original owners dog apparently became allergic to him. From the get go Buddy was one of the most confident, loving cats we have had in our walls. His personality was contagious and he very quickly showed just how wonderful he was.

It wasn't long after we placed Buddy up for adoption that he was snapped up by a lovely girl who we knew would give him the world and boy were we right, they were made for each other and its great to see. Though we miss his big personality very much, we are just so happy he's found his happy ever after.

Buddy's wonderful 1 month update:-

Buddy has settled in wonderfully, he’s adjusted amazingly, our other 2 cats weren’t sure about him at first but, over the past two weeks he’s being growing an amazing bond with them both. We’ve just started letting him adventure outside, and Mischief has taken him under her wing when they are out together. He’s a proper little character, loves his treats and he’s even learned how to climb in to the cat food barrel, caught him in there eating the biscuits. He loves a cuddle especially with my partner, he loves being in your space all the time which is proper cute. I am so chuffed that we have Buddy, I absolutely love the bones off of him. I’m so glad that you let us be his forever home.
- Deon Cochrane

3 month update:-

Omg Buddy is quite literally the double of our Digby. He has finally bonded really well with Mischief every now and then, I walk in and see him cleaning her. He loves to hunt when he goes out, numerous times he’s brought something back. The other day he brought back a rabbit and scared the living daylights out of me. He’s such a character, he even comes on a walk down the fell with us (that’s what our digby used to do). He’s a little snuggle bum, every morning without fail I wake up and he is curled up right into me and boy does he love his food. He loves watch our fish in the fish tank we have. I’m so happy he’s a part of my little family 💜🐾

Luna & Lola

Lola & Luna successfully went to their furrever home on the 24th February 2024.
Lola & Luna were the sweetest of sisters with the biggest of hearts and we miss them very much here at the rescue. They were both super loving and it hasn't surprised me they have been snapped up.

Lola & Luna were signed over to me after concerns were raised about their living situation of being kept in a kitchen cupboard. The owner allowed them to be taken from her care after not wanting them due to just having a new baby.

They have since settled in very very well in their new home where they are loved and cared for and also very happy. How could I ask for more?

Paws up for our baby girls.

Here is Lola and Lunas 1 month update :-

Lola and Luna are settled and enjoy chasing each other around the house. Lola is still quite a bit smaller and is a bit of a picky eater but has plenty of energy and loves exploring. They are being gradually introduced to a safe outdoor space and love sitting in the sun but are a bit scared by the wind.
- Elizabeth Clowes

Lola & Lunas 3 month update:-

Lola and Luna are doing well, although Lola has a sensitive stomach (but is fine now she's on hypoallergenic food). They both love sitting in sunny spots, playing with string and feathers, and being outside ( though that's still limited).

Our lovely duos 6 month update:-

Lola and Luna have really made themselves at home in the 6 months they have been here, and do make us laugh (when they're not getting under our feet). They love to be outside but are also happy to laze around inside. They like to sleep on separate beds but still play together a lot. And both actually enjoy having their tummies stroked!
