Hello all, my names Lucky and I most definitely live by my name. I came to the rescue back in April 2024 after being signed over because our owner didn't have time for us anymore. I say 'our' because I was signed over with 3 other cats. Tips, Boyo and Dixie. Dixie is my son who I had with my brother Boyo because we were all left to live together in the house unneutered and unseparated.

When I came into rescue the first thing noticed was the fact I'd practically lost all of my furr, to find out why... All the tests under the sun were done to rule things out, when everything was coming back negative it was then put down to the fact I could have lost it through stress or flea related dermatitis however I am super thankful to say all my furr has made a beautiful come back and I am no longer a naked girlie.

Despite all the stress I have had in life and unfortunate circumstances I've had to deal within it I really am one of the most LOVING kitties you could ever meet. Attention, strokes, cuddles, kisses, I love it all! I just want a place I can call my own and receive all this but also give it back to a special someone. I'd be great with kids of all ages, I don't mind cats either as long as I have space to get away and relax when I want to, I have also lived with dogs and they don't really bother me so long as they aren't too boisterous but id also be great in a older based home, truth be told I'm pretty versatile, I just don't want to go back to a life of stress.

I'm such a well behaved cat and you really would be so lucky to have Lucky. I am fully litter trained and never have any accidents... What more could you possibly need or want? If you want to give me a chance and I really hope you do, then scroll down and click the 'adoption' option below to apply for me today.

Thankyou x

Marvin

Our handsome lad Marvin was born in the rescue after his mummy Maggie was handed over to us. Marvin was a lovely kitten who had two sister siblings. It wasn't long before one of our voltuneers fell inlove with him and snapped him up as soon as he was old enough to go, where he went to a wonderful home that had other furry friends waiting for him.

Here are his updates for you!

1 month update:-

Marvin has settled in so well to our family. He likes giving nose kisses and snuggling on our laps. He has really grown in confidence and warns our dogs when they get too much for him. He is friends with our other cats, they play and chase each other. We love him so much and are so thankful he was born safely at the rescue. x
- Lizzie Telfer

3 month update:-

Marvin has such a funny personality, he thinks he’s the boss of our other 4 cats. He is best friends with our dog. He is still very loving and loves to chill on our lap. It feels like he’s always been here, not just 3 months! We wouldn’t be without him, our gorgeous Marv x

6 month update:-

Marvin is doing great. He loves human food and tries to steal crisps and cheerios. He still thinks he’s the boss and sits with his head back when he wants his chin scratched. He’s very mischievous , if we open the front door he runs out and over the wall then comes straight back in the cat flap. We love him so much, our adventurous boy x

Simba

Our beautiful girl Simba came into us back in July 2024 after being passed over to us due to the owner no longer wanting her anymore. We originally went to pick up the kittens Simba had given birth too that were old enough to leave mum however upon arrival it was decided by them they no longer wanted her either so we took her too.

Simba showed us nothing but love and care, everyone described her as an absolute sweetheart & she was indeed a pleasure to look after. We knew it wouldn't be long before she was snapped up. Whilst in with us here at Zoe's Ark Simba flared up with the flu pretty bad which can be normal when cats become stressed however we are thankful to say she pulled through and was fine, once we were once again happy with everything, Simba underwent her neutering prior to going up for adoption where she had a terrible reaction to the drugs used to sedate her when going through the surgery. This wasn't apparent until we got her home though and she took a terrible turn. For days she was under strict surveillance to make sure she was ok and again she surprised everyone by pulling through and boy were we relieved as she really wasn't in a good way.

A month later a lady came round to view her and really fell in love, we of course, couldn't blame her. She decided Simba was exactly what she wanted and took the leap to adopt her. She is now living her best life and here are updates for you all.

Dixie

Our lovely Dixie came into rescue back in April 2024 along with 3 other cats who were signed over to us due to the owner no longer having time for them. Dixie was in the best condition of all cats and although on the skinny side was in good condition.

Dixie from the get go showed us his potential with how loving and caring he was, always wanting to be around you and giving affection. It was lovely and we knew it wasn't going to take long to find him a home. However due to the condition of the other cats we had to wait until we knew what was wrong with them before rehoming incase there were underlying health conditions within him from the others that just didn't show. In that time Dixie became more and more wound up in the rescue environment, the restrictions in place started to irritate him a lot and once he was cleared of any illnesses he calmed down again when going into the main room of the rescue. This happiness became short lived due to the fact all the other cats started to do his head in and he in return became frustrated again. Finding him a home became more important then ever for this poor boys mental state.

Thankfully an adoption form came in of a quite home, where they just wanted a single indoor only cat and we knew Dixie would love it so away we went suggesting Dixie to this lovely gentleman who fell inlove with the sound of him and what Dixie had to offer. We are happy to say he has now settled in great!

Here is his months update:-

We're both doing well. Dixie is settling in and we're getting used to each other. He's always happy to see me when I come home. Mainly coz he wants feeding lol. He always comes and sleeps with me each night, he likes to keep my feet warm.

Maggie

Maggie Moo came to us in April 2024. Maggie was always coming to us for a temporary amount of time as she had already found a home.

Maggie was found by a member of the public as a heavily pregnant stray, she was taken to a out of hours vet called 'Wear referrals' where a lovely girl who worked there immediately fell in love with her. With the hours of her job, she worried if taking Maggie then would be risky in-case she had the kittens whilst she was at work and something went wrong, then nobody would be around to help.

Between her and the company she worked for, they contacted multiple vets and eventually were sent our way to see if we could help and of course we could. We got her in and settled and she was so so very sweet and loving... Yet barely an adult herself, it was concerning knowing her small body had to push what looked like 3 kittens out of her however 19 days later BOOM, on the 1st of May, there they were. She had done an incredible job and was so very brave. She was a brilliant mummy.

Once the kittens reached 9 weeks we felt it fair that Maggie could go back to the girl and start her journey in her new forever home and live happily ever after.

Here are her updates for you:

1 month:-

She’s settled in lovely after a month. Got a bit of conjunctivitis but has been very good for her drops. Started letting her outside now too which she loves x
- Freya Townsend

Maggie Moos 3 month update:-

6 month update:-

She’s doing great. She loved the Christmas tree x

Tips

Our lovely Tips came to us back in April 2024 along with 3 other cats. They were signed over to us due to their owner not having time for them anymore, its also important to note they all lived together unneutered and two of these were brother and sister who had previously mated resulting in kittens where they then kept 1 which also didn't end up getting neutered however we will stick with Tips for now.

When they all came into our care our hearts broke immediately, 3 of the 4 cats had significant hair loss, and were malnourished. Still so very full of love it made it so hard seeing them in the worst conditions id personally seen a cat since starting the rescue. Due to the malnourishment we had to build up feeding Tips bit by bit so we didn't over feed her too quickly and make her ill, however a few weeks past and it still felt like there was no chance of filling her as she was just as ravenous when it came to meal times in such an unnormal way.

During the first couple of months of the 4 coming in because 3 of them were in such bad condition test after test were being preformed on them to try figure out what was wrong with them and also what caused the hair-loss, all tests kept coming back negative which of course gave us such a sense of relief, leaving the only kind of explanation to be either 'flea related dermatitis', 'stress related hair-loss' or a mixture of both. Then came the most heartbreaking part, unbeknown to all of us, vets included, Tips was actually pregnant though she wasn't far enough along to show obvious signs like her teets producing milk +  she was so skinny it really didn't show, it was then when I had a phone call when I was at work by a volunteer saying that he had found Tips laying in her isolation cage with 2 stillborn kittens.

This then made sense as to why Tips always seemed hungry, she wasn't just trying to feed herself the poor girl was trying to feed a family we had no idea about... Tips was then rushed into the vets later on that morning to be scanned showing 2 more kittens deceased in her where she then underwent emergency surgery to remove them and then be neutered in the process. We then found out prior to Tips being signed over she had been pregnant before and successfully gave birth only to reject the kittens leaving them to pass away one by one. It was hard for us trying to wrack our heads around how much she'd been through in her small life, how scared she must have been and felt... Yet still be so damn loving & caring. So to make up for it I set out to find the most perfect home for her where she wouldn't ever have to go through anything like it again and I'm  glad to say I found her just that. Meanwhile whilst I was finding the best home for her I'm glad to say her beautiful furr came back and Tips made a full recovery.

Daisy & Luna

  • Daisy & Luna
  • Female
  • 7 & 4 Years Old
  • Tabby & calico
  • Domestic short haired
  • Neutered, Microchipped, flea'd & wormed (will also come vaccinated)
  • No known health conditions or concerns
  • Available to be reserved

Hello, my names Daisy and I'm here with my sister from another mister Luna. We are both lovely girls and typical cats, we love attention and a fuss however we are happy to tell you when we've had enough however this is is quite rare just more if you hit our no no spots which is primarily our bellies but we can be picked up and I (Daisy) love, love, love kisses.

We came to the rescue due to a relationship break down stressing out the household, it just got us worked up which in return made us very anxious and scared. Our owners daughter would stroke us and hit our no no spots and with emotions flying in the air, this would cause one of us mainly to bite and this then made her scared of us.

In general we are lovely cats, please don't let this put you off us, we just need a nice calm relaxed environment, somewhere without chaos and panic. Since being at the rescue we haven't bitten or even attempted to bite once. We are nice ladies, fully litter trained and yes I may be a little older, Luna is only 4 however, we both have many many years ahead of us.

We have always been indoor, therefore this means we need to stay indoors only. We don't want dogs near us either and maybe its for the best there is no children living in the house hold under 14. Visiting children are fine as we will just remove ourselves from the situation when they are around.

Please please give us a chance, we are love bugs who just need some stability and routine. If you like the sound of us lovely ladies then please don't hesitate to scroll down to the adoption option below in the quick links section and pop our names down today. Thank-you.

Lars

Our lovely Lars came to us in March 2024 after being a stray for quite sometime in Manchester. Lars was quite a fortunate boy because even though he was a stray, a lady would feed him and make sure he was ok and was happy to do this. Unfortunately this lady was then having to move, not in a position to take him with her and contacted a local rescuer who then contacted us to see if we had space.

Luckily enough she was already due to bring up 6 others so we told her we would find room for Lars and to bring him up with her. Lars you could tell from the start had been very well looked after by this lady to which we were very thankful for because this made his rehabilitation journey much more smoother and simpler meaning he was able to be put up for adoption relatively quickly and what made it even better was the fact he had very few limitations meaning he could be rehomed with other cats and children + be allowed outdoors as he had shown he was street/road savvy for years.

Though we though Lars would be snapped up it actually took slightly longer then expected for someone to come forward wanting to take him on however we are thankful to say the lady who then put in to adopt him was perfect and could offer Lars everything he could ever want and here is an update for you all.

1 month update:-

He seems really happy, Zoe. He gets on well with Daphne now but struggles with Jude still (male). Lars is really sweet with him but Jude hisses at him! We are monitoring them and they do not fight, just some hissing from Jude. We have let him out today for the first time, on the terrace. He is very good and comes back as soon as you call him (and there are always dreamies😂).
- Lydia Harratt

Ashton

Our lovely Ashton came to us in March 2024 after being tracked as a stray for a few months in Manchester before being trapped and brought into our care. From the start Ashton showed true potential of being a very loving caring cat despite his nervous ways at first.

Once we were happy at the stage Ashton was up he went for rehoming and it wasn't long before an elderly mans daughter found him and felt he could quite likely be exactly what both her mum and dad where looking for. They all came for a meet and greet and indeed Ashton was who they fell for.

A couple weeks later it was time for Ashton to go and boy did he settle in quickly! The friendship that has blossomed between this gentleman and Ashton has been nothing but beautiful to hear about and watch. Here are his updates for you all.

1 month update :-

The green chair with robin cushion appears to be his favourite, it has a view of the garden & is generally a sunny spot. He's not showing much interest in the door, seems very content having the run of the house & all the windowsills. Which is great, long may it last...
- Helen Frost (daughter)

Lovely Ashtons 3 month update:-

He's tremendous! A very happy cat. Roams the farm & garden during the day & lies on knees or in front of fire at night.

6 month later:-

Ashton is brilliant & he seems very very happy. He's good as gold, if he's outside playing around the farm he comes when he's called. He's sits on knees once he's done playing outside & is really friendly & good company.

Kitty

Beautiful Kitty turned up at a ladies house on and off again over the duration of 5/6 months, where she wouldn't come to close and would stay in the yard however, one day Kitty decided to fully go into the house.  I then recieved a phone call off this lady once she realised that this cat must have been someones pet because this seemingly nervous cat was actually a super friendly loving sweetie pie.

The next day I set off with my scanner to scan her and BOOM there it was, she was indeed chipped where we then found out her name was Kitty. I then reached out to Kitty's owner via the chip details but I couldn't get through to them at all, however I thankfully also made a shout out on our facebook page asking for her owners to come forward and eventually my post found their way to them where I managed to let them know she was safe and well and was excited for reuniting them as it turned out Kitty had been missing for over a year! So a date and time was arranged for her to be collected the next day.

This quickly changed when the morning came and I awoke to a message off the owner stating he didn't want her back because after she left they'd gotten a dog and didn't feel Kitty and the dog would get on, it was also stated that when Kitty left it had caused to much upset to the kids and they didnt want to bring Kitty back for her to then 'dissapear' again.

My heart was broken for this poor girl, so friendly and so loving yet didn't understand she wasn't even wanted back, so we decided she would stay at the ladies house where they'd foster her until we found a permanent home which didn't take long at all and now she's at a home where she couldn't be more loved and appriciated & for that we are so grateful.

Here are her updates,

1 Month:-

Kitty settled in very quickly and is so loving. Her new name is bandit which suits her very well. She's now an indoor and outdoor cat and she was lead trained in the garden until we thought she was ready to be let out alone. Now she has her morning adventures and waits at the door to be let in again. She loves her cuddles and 5am zoomies around the house. Is very affectionate with new people that come in the house too. She's definitely the perfect cat for us, we love her so much 🩷
- Lottie Hawthorn

Lovely Kitty's 3 month update:-

Bandit is truly the bundle of joy we all needed. I couldn't imagine a life without her now, she greets everyone as they come in the door and gives the best cuddles, even if it's at 5am and she becomes a neck scarf. She loves our company and follows us through the house. She has her outdoor outings too but definitely prefers the warm couch. She's all ready to be in the first Christmas family photo 🥰
