Ruby

Beautiful Ruby came into us along with her siblings and mum after we found out about them being sold on facebook for free back in July 2024. All were signed over and brought back with us to the ark, we unfortunately lost one of her siblings due to them all coming out with the flu, he was just too weak anyway the flu took over and eventually we had no choice but to have him PTS to stop him struggling anymore then he was.

Thankfully the rest pulled through and became incredibly strong + well and that's when the perfect lady came along who fell in-love with Ruby immediately and not long after away she went to her new happy home to live happily ever after and she's absolutely thriving with her new big brother!

Here are her updates for you all!

Lovely Ruby's 3 month update:

My Ruby 😻😻 tiny girl Sleeps on my pillow on a night waiting for me to wake up and feed her ! She loves watching me put on my make up and loves watching any animals on TV Most of the day she’s sat looking out of the window watching birds and squirrels or sleeping next to her big brother 😻 She follows me around cant go to the bathroom without her . She loves her shower tray stage where she does some flower arranging 😹 She’s still scared of me when I wear boots and clothes runs and hides so my house attire is mainly my pjs and slippers to ensure hugs 🤗 Just love her and can’t imagine my house without her.

Narla & Pearl

Our beautiful duo Narla and Pearl came into our rescue alongside their sister Ruby and brother Flea after we had seen them being advertised on facebook for free back in July 2024. We were going to the area they were being advertised at and felt whilst their we might as well collect them and bring them into safety were they could be rehomed correctly and be checked over thoroughly.

Narla & Pearl were the cheekiest little girls and blew everyone away with their huge protruding eyes and sweet sweet nature but we had to hold off rehoming them for a while due to them becoming very ill with flu. Once recovered it didn't long for the purrfect family to snap them up and we were so happy & excited for them.

They are now living their best life and it is so wonderful to see & watch them grow knowing they went to the right people and here is their updates for you all!

1 month update:

The girls are doing really well. Happily chasing each other around, or playing with theirs/Bowie's toys the whole time! Very happily tuck into tuna and chicken whenever they can - they're both very fast at sticking their noses in the fridge whenever the door is open 🫣 and happy to try to eat Bowie's chicken too if he lets them! Pearl loves to be carried in your arms while Narla prefers to sit on your shoulder - but she's definitely a Daddies girl when it comes to watching TV either beside him or on his legs👏👏 They both also "chirp" when they want Bowie's attention, it's very cute - they are gradually becoming friends although he still likes to find his own space after he's been followed by them both for ages! Thanks again for letting them join our little family! They are beautiful like kitties! xx🥰💕

Beautiful Narla & Pearls 3 month update:

The girls have both settled in beautifully, Narla thinks she's the boss of the whole house while Pearl can normally be found sat in either the bath or the sink playing with any drips of water she can find! They love to chase anything and anyone all day long then happily curl up in bed with Soph every night - they were even the stars on her 18th Birthday cake last week! They are both such lovely girls we're all so happy to have them in our family, thank you xx

Sooty

Sooty came into us back in May 2024 after being found in the middle of nowhere stranded by the side of the road and alone. Barely even 2 months old, no mother to be seen. She was picked up by a kind couple who drove past her having to double look she was even there because they couldn't believe their eyes at what they'd seen and eventually they were able to make contact with ourselves and surrendered her over to us.

Sooty from the start went to to my partners mums house as at the time lovely PSB was around the same age as her and we felt it would be important for Sooty be around a kitten her own age after going through want must of felt like a traumatic experience. PSB was NOT impressed but Sooty very quickly won her heart over with her amazing confidence, cute looks and very intelligent brain, little did she know she has also won over the heart of my partners mum.

Sooty was constantly full of surprises and it was obvious this little girl was clever, her agility was incredible and you'd see her often watching and listening to everything going on around her and her adapting to it, this includes figuring out how to tease the dogs enough to play with her. It became clear she was that intelligent she must have risked her life to save it by waiting at the side of the road patiently and it worked!

So just like PSB's, our Sooty is here to stay, I see her everyday and she's thriving so here is an update from my partners mum letting you all know from herself just how much Sooty is loved:

Sooty, Sooty, Sooty! What a beautiful and original lady huntress she is! Sooty was dumped on the moors one stormy night and was ’temporarily’ dropped off with us while we waited for Zoe to finish work.
Sooty didn’t like being in the holding cage at all and cried all night which was awful to hear.
But in the morning light she was allowed out and has been adventuring ever since. She formed a close bond with Princess Smoky Bean and it seemed like she had always been with us and always should be.
The most rewarding moment was the first morning where she was clearly exhausted and hyper alert but little by little I gained her confidence and she crept close and closer until she finally climbed into my arms and fell into a long deep sleep.
Sooty loves to climb and hunt and she loves to go in the shower and push glasses of water off the table.
I often think she would make an excellent lady spy as she is so capable and not scared of anything.
She is so entertaining- as she is walking along she will make a random crazy shaped jump into the air accompanied by a ludicrous shriek, then continue to walk as if nothing had happened.
There is a beautiful two way relationship with Sooty and our dogs, especially Toffee - if either one is outside in the garden they will come to the door and ask for the other one to go out and play - I’d never thought it possible to have cats and dogs interact like that!
When the fire is on Sooty has to get as close as possible and she heats up to sizzling hot! Contrary to her usual adventurous nature, when the snow came Sooty loved the fact that the fire was on all the time rather than wanting to go outside!
She is such a sweet and loving kitty - I always know if it’s her jumping on me in the night by the loud constant purr and trying to snuggle under the covers.

Fearless and highly intelligent, independent yet loving and cuddly - what a wonderful complex cat she is!

Princess Smokey Bean

Our beautiful girl Princess Smokey Beans was handed to us when she was only 2 weeks old in April 2024 after a man disturbed a leaf pile in his garden and found her there alone. The gentleman left her for a few hours in hopes that he had maybe scared mummy cat off when she was moving the kittens and she'd accidentally dropped her, however as the day came to a close the man then brought her in to safety and contacted us.

Immediately we knew we had to get her in, get her warmed up, fed and checked over. She was in good health though a little under weight however very bright in spirit. With the help of my partners mum we hand reared PSB and we are thankful she made it, turning into the most beautiful, wonderful & sassy girl.

PSB very quickly became a popular girl within our facebook page by our followers, with her cute looks it wasn't hard to see why but behind the scenes my partners mum had completely fallen in-love with her and made the decision to go in for full adoption herself and since she'd helped bring her up how could we say no? It was so obvious the love and care they had for one another and truth be told, there wasn't going to be anyone who knew her better.

Therefore our beautiful Princess Smokey Bean's update is a little different for I'm in very close contact with her and see her every day. So here is an update from my partners mum letting you all know just how much PSB really means to the family and how well she's fitted in.

Princess Smokey Beans update:-

How do I write an update on such a unique and fabulous kitty as PSB or Princess Smoky Bean to give her the full title! She came into our lives as a two week old abandoned kitten, found in a pile of leaves and hasn’t left since!
Sassy and beautiful from the start she captured the hearts of everyone who saw her - our dogs included. I wasn’t sure we would be able to have cats with our two crazy border collies but there was never a problem and she even started to act like a little pup! She lovingly took on the role of caring big sis when we had more tiny hand rears arrive and she has groomed them, fought and played with them ever since.
At a few weeks old she lost all her fur and was almost bald apart from her head, but then it started to grow and hasn’t stopped - she is now known as a luxury cat as her fur is so glorious and doesn’t she know it!
Ms Bean is very independent and loves to play outside in the garden and stay out as long as she can, she works on her own schedule, out of synch with every other person and animal. Her feisty attitude has not changed since the day she got here and she has the loudest meow to let you know she wants something done for her, immediately! But she is always the first kitty to greet us when we come home, and then, sometimes, on a night, she will climb into my bed and give lovely little kisses and purrs and let me give her a cuddle and snuggle into her fur - that’s the best time of all!

Hey hey hey, my names Boyo and I'm really excited to tell you all about myself. I came to Zoe's Ark back in April 2024 along with my sister lucky, our son Dixie and another kitty called Tips who lived with us. You may think you read the previous sentence wrong however you'd be mistaken... Its exactly what it says. We were all left to roam around the house together unneutered and eventually the inevitable happened and even then, with our son in the picture, neutering still didn't happen.

I came from quite a hectic house hold, we lived amongst dogs that didn't even like cats and we were then signed over due to our owner saying she didn't have time for us. We gave mummy Zoe quite the scare when she saw mainly me, Lucky and Tips for the first time as we were all practically bald. Not knowing why, we were then tested for everything under the sun... And everything kept coming back negative. The longer we then stayed at The Ark the more all our furr would grow back. It was then put down to a mixture of stress and flea related dermatitis. Anyway we made a full recovery, put plenty of weight back on, lost the balls to prevent more babies and here we are today finding me a home.

Now I am an all rounder kinda cat... Other cats don't really bother me however I'd be just as happy with solo attention but I am known to cuddle the others sometimes and other times I am known to bop them one, I'm fine with dogs, children... I'd suit a family home, an older home, a younger home, I am fully litter trained and I am a very very friendly loving boy who would love to be fully loved back again and have a bed or knee to curl upon. The only thing I don't want to do is go outside, I'm over 3 now and I've always been an indoor cat so that is where I would feel much more safe.

If you like the sound of me and would love to give this black cat a happy ever after then feel free to scroll down to the 'adoption' option below and fill out a form now! Thankyou!!

Hello all, my names Lucky and I most definitely live by my name. I came to the rescue back in April 2024 after being signed over because our owner didn't have time for us anymore. I say 'our' because I was signed over with 3 other cats. Tips, Boyo and Dixie. Dixie is my son who I had with my brother Boyo because we were all left to live together in the house unneutered and unseparated.

When I came into rescue the first thing noticed was the fact I'd practically lost all of my furr, to find out why... All the tests under the sun were done to rule things out, when everything was coming back negative it was then put down to the fact I could have lost it through stress or flea related dermatitis however I am super thankful to say all my furr has made a beautiful come back and I am no longer a naked girlie.

Despite all the stress I have had in life and unfortunate circumstances I've had to deal within it I really am one of the most LOVING kitties you could ever meet. Attention, strokes, cuddles, kisses, I love it all! I just want a place I can call my own and receive all this but also give it back to a special someone. I'd be great with kids of all ages, I don't mind cats either as long as I have space to get away and relax when I want to, I have also lived with dogs and they don't really bother me so long as they aren't too boisterous but id also be great in a older based home, truth be told I'm pretty versatile, I just don't want to go back to a life of stress.

I'm such a well behaved cat and you really would be so lucky to have Lucky. I am fully litter trained and never have any accidents... What more could you possibly need or want? If you want to give me a chance and I really hope you do, then scroll down and click the 'adoption' option below to apply for me today.

Thankyou x

Marvin

Our handsome lad Marvin was born in the rescue after his mummy Maggie was handed over to us. Marvin was a lovely kitten who had two sister siblings. It wasn't long before one of our voltuneers fell inlove with him and snapped him up as soon as he was old enough to go, where he went to a wonderful home that had other furry friends waiting for him.

Here are his updates for you!

1 month update:-

Marvin has settled in so well to our family. He likes giving nose kisses and snuggling on our laps. He has really grown in confidence and warns our dogs when they get too much for him. He is friends with our other cats, they play and chase each other. We love him so much and are so thankful he was born safely at the rescue. x
- Lizzie Telfer

3 month update:-

Marvin has such a funny personality, he thinks he’s the boss of our other 4 cats. He is best friends with our dog. He is still very loving and loves to chill on our lap. It feels like he’s always been here, not just 3 months! We wouldn’t be without him, our gorgeous Marv x

6 month update:-

Marvin is doing great. He loves human food and tries to steal crisps and cheerios. He still thinks he’s the boss and sits with his head back when he wants his chin scratched. He’s very mischievous , if we open the front door he runs out and over the wall then comes straight back in the cat flap. We love him so much, our adventurous boy x

Simba

Our beautiful girl Simba came into us back in July 2024 after being passed over to us due to the owner no longer wanting her anymore. We originally went to pick up the kittens Simba had given birth too that were old enough to leave mum however upon arrival it was decided by them they no longer wanted her either so we took her too.

Simba showed us nothing but love and care, everyone described her as an absolute sweetheart & she was indeed a pleasure to look after. We knew it wouldn't be long before she was snapped up. Whilst in with us here at Zoe's Ark Simba flared up with the flu pretty bad which can be normal when cats become stressed however we are thankful to say she pulled through and was fine, once we were once again happy with everything, Simba underwent her neutering prior to going up for adoption where she had a terrible reaction to the drugs used to sedate her when going through the surgery. This wasn't apparent until we got her home though and she took a terrible turn. For days she was under strict surveillance to make sure she was ok and again she surprised everyone by pulling through and boy were we relieved as she really wasn't in a good way.

A month later a lady came round to view her and really fell in love, we of course, couldn't blame her. She decided Simba was exactly what she wanted and took the leap to adopt her. She is now living her best life and here are updates for you all.

Dixie

Our lovely Dixie came into rescue back in April 2024 along with 3 other cats who were signed over to us due to the owner no longer having time for them. Dixie was in the best condition of all cats and although on the skinny side was in good condition.

Dixie from the get go showed us his potential with how loving and caring he was, always wanting to be around you and giving affection. It was lovely and we knew it wasn't going to take long to find him a home. However due to the condition of the other cats we had to wait until we knew what was wrong with them before rehoming incase there were underlying health conditions within him from the others that just didn't show. In that time Dixie became more and more wound up in the rescue environment, the restrictions in place started to irritate him a lot and once he was cleared of any illnesses he calmed down again when going into the main room of the rescue. This happiness became short lived due to the fact all the other cats started to do his head in and he in return became frustrated again. Finding him a home became more important then ever for this poor boys mental state.

Thankfully an adoption form came in of a quite home, where they just wanted a single indoor only cat and we knew Dixie would love it so away we went suggesting Dixie to this lovely gentleman who fell inlove with the sound of him and what Dixie had to offer. We are happy to say he has now settled in great!

Here is his months update:-

We're both doing well. Dixie is settling in and we're getting used to each other. He's always happy to see me when I come home. Mainly coz he wants feeding lol. He always comes and sleeps with me each night, he likes to keep my feet warm.

Maggie

Maggie Moo came to us in April 2024. Maggie was always coming to us for a temporary amount of time as she had already found a home.

Maggie was found by a member of the public as a heavily pregnant stray, she was taken to a out of hours vet called 'Wear referrals' where a lovely girl who worked there immediately fell in love with her. With the hours of her job, she worried if taking Maggie then would be risky in-case she had the kittens whilst she was at work and something went wrong, then nobody would be around to help.

Between her and the company she worked for, they contacted multiple vets and eventually were sent our way to see if we could help and of course we could. We got her in and settled and she was so so very sweet and loving... Yet barely an adult herself, it was concerning knowing her small body had to push what looked like 3 kittens out of her however 19 days later BOOM, on the 1st of May, there they were. She had done an incredible job and was so very brave. She was a brilliant mummy.

Once the kittens reached 9 weeks we felt it fair that Maggie could go back to the girl and start her journey in her new forever home and live happily ever after.

Here are her updates for you:

1 month:-

She’s settled in lovely after a month. Got a bit of conjunctivitis but has been very good for her drops. Started letting her outside now too which she loves x
